I was here in Boston and watched with a friend who's a huge fan. I've got to admit, I don't know anything about basketball -- as in, I had to ask "Why was that basket worth *3* points?" But even I got totally into it, because the energy the Celtics put into it was awesome to see. They played as a team, coordinating everything together and balancing each other; when you saw them interacting during timeouts and after the game, the camaraderie was palpable. The Lakers didn't have that kind of unity, but more of an every-man-for-himself vibe -- apologies to any Lakers fans lurking here, but it's true. The difference between the teams was obvious even to a newbie. On defense, the Celtics would get into a star pattern; the Lakers' defense looked like 5 guys running to catch a bus. I got caught up in it because I loved the team spirit the Celtics showed. And it paid off, clearly -- winning by nearly 40 points, holy cow.
