1. Awesome interview!
I love how JK looks at every problem we're facing and says we should stop looking back, roll up our sleeves and get to work fixing the mess. Sure it's not going to be easy, but let's have at it and get it done! So refreshing after all the partisan wailing and gnashing of teeth at both extremes of the political spectrum!

I kept wondering whether Frost was going to bring up Nixon, but he forebore. :-)

3. As to Nixon, I had the same feeling
I wonder if Kerry has seen the movie Frost/Nixon. The closest thing was that he brought up Ortega. Imagine if we had a good President in 1985 when Harkin and Kerry spoke of Ortega being willing to work with the US. Though that was treated as an error by the two Senators, I think they rather than the Contra supporting President were right.

2. Awesome is right!
His comments on the middle east and (short as they were) latin America were great. I didn't get the 2 Oscar nominees in a row at the end - though. (I also couldn't help thinking of Frost/Nixon - remembering that Frost and Kerry in their different ways both fought Nixon.)

4. Re the Oscar thing
Do you think Frost was having a senior moment and meant Gore? It's the only thing I can think of!

6. Wow, people age differently
I actually thought David Frost was a lot older than he actually is. He is 70. (Oh dear.) http://www.biogs.com/famous/frostdavid.html

Very good interview. It is a new day when Sen. Kerry can be interviewed by Sir David Frost for Al Jazeera. (Who is keeping the canonical list of things that a Senator can do that might be difficult for a member of the Admin to do?)

7. He looks far older than he is and the Senator looks younger than he is!
I didn't realize that it was on Al Jazeera. It is very very nice that this show is being seen in the middle east. It is also great that nothing he said was any different than what he would have said in Israel or the floor of the Senate.

PS Is he going to lose votes in Quincy by speaking of Quincy terrorists and repeatedly using them as the example?

8. LOL, no.
Almost no one in MA will even see this interview, for one thing. And a lot of others would find if fuels for some good jokes anyway. The point made is a good one and I think most would get it.

LOL, it is a funny point though.

10. I did mean it as a joke
and it makes the point very clearly. Just thought it funny that he keeps using Quincy as the example - though I assume that he (or staff) looked for a place the same distance out of Boston.
