A lot of people seemed to like what I said there. I know those who would still bash Kerry now have an agenda that is 100% opposite of ours. I have known that for a long time, but I hoped that his words about Iraq would change some of them. I have seen mostly positive statements about his speech, but there is the old crew of haters whose agenda on DU is first and foremost to bash Kerry, which is apperently kosher here, since they come back day after day after day to post their shit.

So I was thinking about posting that comment as its own thread. Problem is, I have to leave soon and won't be around to beat off the enemy hordes when they flock to my pro-Kerry thread like flies on shit. So I dunno.

1. That's a great post.
You may want to save it for a lull. There's a lot going on today and should also be tomorrow, with hopefully the long-awaited indictments coming down. A lot of the posts on Kerry are actually positive today, too.

"Lead follow or get out of the way" is a great theme for a post ANY time. Maybe save it for when there's less other stuff going on, and you can stay around for the battle.

Just a thought. But I'll say it again - that was a GREAT post.

3. I agree - I've been surprised by the number
of people who said they now support Kerry. The number bringing up the Grand Canyon and ignoring the many many times Kerry DID say exactly what he said he said sounds like they have an agenda. (Even if GC weren't an acknowleged error in hearing the question - it doesn't make the comment a lie - because of the many Sept, Oct comments which are the same.

2. He's been saying most of this speech for 2 years now
He never said he would have gone to war, not even on the eve of war did he say it was the right time to go to war. Will posted part of an interview he did in the primaries, when JK said national security is traditonally above partisan politics in the Senate. Not voting to give Bush authority is really the only new thing in this speech, because he actually had called for withdrawaing troops over this past summer if he had been elected. In another week, it'll be as if this speech never happened and they'll be back to calling Dems spineless and all the rest again. They keep getting behind people who don't have any real solutions instead of supporting the ones who do.

Good post, btw, I'm just blathering on here...
