2. You know, I don't think I would get it and here's why
Obviously, my kids are going to pick up on my views as they grow up. But I don't ever want to "indoctrinate" them, if you will. Remember my wonderful story of seeing Pat Robertson? Well, I consciously didn't say anything negative about him to my daughter -- she smartly figured out for herself that he was a bumbling bore!! My parents gave me a few words of advice (vote for the candidate, not the party; if the candidate you want is going to win in a landslide vote for the other guy just so they don't get too arrogant) and they would talk to me about various issues. But they never told me "this is why you should be a Dem/Repub". As it happens they are Independents. I am a Democrat, but I would never throw that over my kids' heads. And the thing is that I have a friend whose mother is very anti-abortion and active in the Republican party, and her daughter ended up voting for Kerry in '04. So, kids have minds of their own. I would prefer a book about government/elections, etc for kids.

But thanks for posting so I could figure that out about myself!

3. This seemed pretty lighthearted to me,
especially the age group this book is tartgetss. Still there is enough out there to indoctrinate children to Republican family values. Yet, kids still grow and make their own decisions. But I understand your point.
