I guess we are going public with this.

OK then!

I'm interning in Kerry's Boston office too.

I have a very kind and helpful friend on JK's staff who, after the Birthday Bash, graciously offered me the opportunity to help out in the Senate office this summer.

So, naturally, I said yes.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you who made this possible, and all of you who share my love of this great man. I'll try to do you proud.

I didn't post about this earlier, because I wasn't sure if WEL was ok with it. I see she is. Interestingly, we both got contacted about our internships by totally different staffers, and each had no idea the other was going to be doing this at first.

I'm not really sure what to say about all of it. I guess I just feel weird about it, and am still in shock. I hesitated to post about it, because I can't yet wrap my head around it.

I guess the cat's out of the bag, though.

1. What fun Vector! Won't that make someone jealous?
You will do fine. This is the thrill of a lifetime! Enjoy it! Maybe I'll visit when I visit a friend who works in DC!

5. This is AWESOME!
I know you don't like to fly, but I take it this trip won't be a problem for you!

In honor of you and WEL, a VERY lame attempt at a haiku:

Summer internship.
Beacon Hill never the same.
Congrats Vek and WEL!

7. Wow, Vek.
That is the most wonderful news. I'm so happy for you, and I know you and WEL will do wonderful work for the Senator.
You are two amazing and loyal women, with the brains and dedication to really make a difference.
Love to you both, and of course...

8. Vek, you're coming to Boston
Wicked, wicked awesome. You and WEL are going to have a great time. (I hope it's not too hot in town this summer. You could avoid the 'wicket scawchah' days.)

So you, me, WEL and a few players to be named later at the Sawx game on a fine gift of a summer's night, sitting in the bleachers, drinking a cold one, chit-chatting away about the 'thiser and the thater,' taking in the game. Is there a finer way to pass an evening in all of time? Ah me, that sounds good.

Congratulations! All the best to both of you. (I'm so proud. It's making me verklempt. Our babies are leaving the nest and flying out in the wider world. I'm so happy for you guys!)

So, anybody up for that tour of vote-rich Southern New Hampshire? Honest, after Iowa, there simply is no better place to contemplate being after 2006, don't you agree?

9. I am so happy for you, Vektor!!
This indeed does address that restlessness you have been feeling since you returned from Boston in December. Your lifelong dream is being fulfilled, and the Senator is lucky to have you and WEL working for him!

And of course, please post when you can, and don't be a stranger!

Congratulations again. I am just tickled pink to see two DU Kerrycrats emerging from cyberspace into the "real world" to make a difference.

17. Not to worry.
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 10:22 AM by TayTay
We have a 'class valedictorian' and honors student and a dedicated nursing school student going to this Senate office. Both of them have been very hard workers and are 'high achievers.' My mother used to tell me, 'if you work hard, you get to play hard.' I guess that applies here as well. Both of 'our ladies' have been very hard workers and handled political duties, DU forums and high class loads and still had some time left over for fun and games. I don't think we have anything to worry about here.

You go WEL and VEK. Smart women RULE! Go, work hard and then play hard. I'm looking forward to having you two wonderous souls in Boston for the summer. We are going to 'have a time.'
