It's sneaky that he essentially details the conficts of interest while sounding calm and rational and asking for more information. This administration is beyond corrupt.

3. I've been bugging them

about this since last Monday when the story broke with Schumer. An advance sopy was in my email this morning before the press release went out but with the time difference, I just got it up.

5. Question - timeline of this deal?

The resident *Co/Rush talking-point-repeater at my job claims that this deal has been in the works for 6 months - how come Congress is only just now starting to care?

Can anyone post a summarized timeline that answers that question?

6. It may have been in the works, but it would have been in the

executive branch - they may not even have alerted Congress.

It also sounds like a UAE company bought a British company that owned them.

on Rachel Maddow this morning she was talking about how Rummy is a member of the secret committee that supposedly unanimously okayed the deal. One teensy problem: Rummy was claiming this week he had never heard anything about it until this past weekend. Transparency? It is to laugh. They're not even transparent to their own insiders.

8. Just looked at the thread

There are many many very complimentary comments. (Including one saying that as the Bush ship is sinking - Kerry just tossed them an anvil!) Many mention his BCCI or prosecutor background. Another liked the way it doesn't lead to zenophobia charges. All in all very good. Kerry has made significant in roads there.

I hope when people come to him for comments, he starts his statements with, "...as I said in 1997..." or whatever date applies! I want people to know what kind of a president they missed having! (and what they settled for!)

10. I like that he is out with a letter requesting

inforamtion on all the seedy Bush related connections. It gets some of the problems and the seediness of the Bush administration out, while asking for a detailed review.

Much better than McCain, who is telling us to "trust the President".

14. His letter to Snow got a mention on the news

Lou Dobbs noted it, and played a soundless clip of JK from a few weeks ago. Then on Countdown, KO mentioned him too, with a different soundless clip. We need more reminders to repub voters of who they could have elected!

And David Brooks is such a twit!(Newshour) He's siding with * on this port thing. I guess he's just as tone-deaf! Shields was all about the political fallout we can expect. He can't believe they did something this careless and dumb.

on the ports deal.
But didn't spend much time on it. I like Keith, but he seems to ignore Sen Kerry.
