It provides a comprehensive list of disorders along with descriptions of each, diagnostic criteria, treatment options, associated problems and more. It also provides access to abstracts of research articles.

1. National Alliance for the Mentally Ill or NAMI

I've been meaning to become a member of NAMI. They are one of the biggest mental health advocates out there.

6. Since I found relief for decades - long serious mental health problems with

alternative treatments, (after 6 years of conventional medical treatment and medications) I usually visit Dr. Andrew Weil's site and browse his answers to questions as well as the forums on his site with people's experiences to find tips or other avenues to search.

I appreciate that he gives conventional medical treatments for health problems along with suggested alternatives.

I see many mental health problems as multi-factored and a state of being to be managed and balanced, not necessarily cured in the complete sense, with use of whatever works for you personally.
