so, looks like the kiddo is moving back.
long time members of this forum have heard a lot of stories about this kid, including her police escort out of my house. i must say that i expected them back within a month. that they made it a whole year is a real surprise. she is still in school, still working at the same job. but she is getting ground down by the kind of shit that grinds so many of us.
her apartment is infested with bed bugs, which are raging in chicago. she had some money saved up, so she ends up buying the new mattress. owning a car turns out to cost money, too. and owning a dog that is just plain viscous, and has the vet bills to prove it. (we bailed out most of that expense- $1,200)
and of course, her boyfriend is a complete jerk. so, i am glad that that fact is sinking in.
she has been good, respectful when asking for help, and calm when the answer is no. hanging on, getting along.
she called me last week asking to come home. without the bf would be assumed. she called again the other day to ask if she could bring the dog. (not the viscous one) she says she will decide in a week. i think that is when their lease ends.

i think she has gotten over thinking that i am a bitch, and out to get her.
we will see.

2. she came over a few weeks ago
and told me that she was sorry she had been an ass, and wouldn't be mean to me any more. sealed it with a big, long, hard hug.

so, very hopeful. just hoping asshole stays away. although the chance to call the cops on him, and get him tossed in jail might be good.

i am so glad that they grow up. but teenagers- holy moly.

3. I think you both are doing good now
I remember how distressed you were when you were having problems with your daughter. It sounds like the real world has made understand things a little better and appreciate you more. And I think it's very good of you for helping her out now and acknowledging her progress. I wish both of you happiness and good health.

8. Your relationship with your daughter is mine with Mom on its head.

Every so often, we have a horrible meltdown. But, we love each other so much that, they don't get the kind of play that kind of drama usually does. Of course, I'm 50 now. lol

I hope you guys are good, dear Mo.
