Robin Hobb
I just finished Ship Of Magic and have started Mad Ship. They're part of the Liveship Traders trilogy. They are fantastic! I cannot put them down. I'd never read anything by Hobb before. Now I want to get my hands on all her books. Anyone else a fan?

1. Mixed feelings
I really loved Assassin's Apprentice. So I then continued and finished the rest of that Farseer's Trilogy by Robin Hobb. The ending was REALLY anti-climatic. I felt it was very good build-up and rich emotional tension. But the trilogy's ending didn't live up to the hype.

I've seen the Liveship Trader's trilogy floating around, but am reluctant to repeat that experience. If you finish it, let me know if the trilogy sucks at the end or not. If not, I'll give it a try. I really like the way this author handles emotional tension, but don't want to be suckered into a disappointed flop at the end again.

2. I'll let you know
This is the first of anything she's written that I've read. I'm about half way through the second one now, and it looks promising.

4. I Read The Farseer Trilogy A While Ago
And I remember really enjoying it! I just finished the last trilogy in the series, the Tawny Man and thought it was sensational.

One thing to keep in mind, she's written 9 books in sets of three trilogies and they are ALL interrelated! The Farseer is the first, then the Liveship and then Tawny man. Taken in totality they are one of the best fantasy series I've ever read, and I've read a great deal!

3. Yes! She's Fantastic!
But you should have started w/ the Farseer trilogy, the events in that triology happen before the Liveship trilogy. The Farseer trilogy has "Assasin" in the title of every book. When you're done w/ them then move on to her latest trilogy, the Tawny Man Trilogy, all w/ "Fool" in the title.

5. She Is Awesome
I read the Assassin trilogy and the Fool trilogy. I picked up the first book of the Liveship trilogy, but I haven't had a chance to read it yet.

Hobb, Robin • The Soldier Son • (HarperCollins/Voyager, hc)

I haven't read her yet, but, based on all the comments here from Martin fans, I guess I'll have to soon.
