A trip to the zoo...
Since we finally got some halfway-decent weather, I took a little trip to the zoo:

Here's hoping for more nice weather to come!

1. I love the fox!
Very nice :)

I haven't been to the zoo in months. My favorite one is privately owned and closes for the winter.

Maybe I'll drive down to Provide and go to Roger Williams Park Zoo next weekend. . . this weekend is supposed to be nasty weather.

2. I hadn't been to the zoo since last summer.

Last (academic) year, I went there all the time, because I lived ten minutes away. Now I have to plan ahead a bit more, because it takes me about an hour to get there.

To better illustrate...when I last went to the zoo, this guy

was a little ball of fluff:
(not my picture)

I'd been itching to go for months, but it's been raining here constantly since before Christmas. This last week it finally got sunny.

(edit for correct grammar :eyes:)

3. I really like these ones that I got at Roger Williams Park last year

(I really wish I hadn't blown the highlights on this one, the elephant itself turned out great, but the blown highlights on the rocks screw up the shot):

5. I really like the first shot of the leopard.
And since I can't resist the urge to tweak all pictures, whether or not they belong to me...

6. Foxie is adorable
As are the others.... I couldn't talk Ms F into going to our local zoo with me but I want to go some day. You have some incredible critter shots.

Ms F gets depressed seeing critters in captivity so I'll have to go in "zen mode" unless I convince another colorado snappy into meeting me there sometime.
