Macrouniverse
Is it the Milky Way? No, snowflakes on my back porch. (Not as cool as PitBull Ted's, though.) :)

1. WOW. Its snowing somewhere.
Snow makes me happy. :)
We haven't had much in St Paul, but other areas of Minnesota have done OK.

I am very curious about the lighting for your photo.
Howcum some flakes are black, and others on the same plane are very white?

2. It was night time...

I was shooting using the light from the back porch on my belly with the camera resting on a pillow (real professional, LOL). The original JPG looked like this (roughly - cropped from the original)... It was about an inch of snow, only some of the snowflakes showed up distinctly.

Then I did a bunch of stuff with PaintShop to lighten it up, sharpen, etc. and this is how it turned out. I just thought it was kind of cool the way it kept changing and it reminded me of those pictures of outer space you see with the space dust and all.

PS - I went back to the RAW and redid it, a little less fancifully - this is pretty much the way it really looked...

3. I like all of them.
Though can see where the camera tried to turn it to neutral gray. I tried doing this last snow, but they sucked so deleted them.
Hope it is still snowing for you and please keep it up there. Glad you got some though.
