I can't believe I actually won! It's been a year exactly from when I last hosted the contest, but I've never won the contest. I was just relieving someone from hosting responsibilities.

Although it was a squeeker for sure. It seems strange to have won against such a wondrful group of photographers. I have to admit, I voted for Emerald City. I just luuuuuv that photo! Better on so many levels than Ben.

19. Thanks for the well run contest, and, to intheflow, "I told you so"

when you first posted that picture, that it was truly a unique and outstanding image. We've all seen dogs shake off water, but I have never seen any image that captured this commonplace event as "truthfully" as yours. In most ways "Emerald City" was a better "work of art," and maybe the "pets and kids" bias in the Lounge got you a couple more votes, but on the other hand, there are lots of pix like his, and only one (that I have seen) like yours.

One of the nice things about these contests is that the quality of submissions is so high that which ever image wins, whatever the merits of the process, is certain to be worth honoring.
