Birds on Ice. Could be the latest trend in skating competitions. Might be hard to put them in the little sequined outfits...

1. It's pretty funny when that happens

They just kind of walk around saying, "Where's the water. It was here last time."

2. I like the duck landing in the second shot.

But when I first looked, I thought it was a hawk swooping down on a duck! :hide:

3. I can hear it now....

"Fred, I told you we needed to go little further south, but noooooooo, you said we weren't lost!" That is very pretty duck in the foreground btw. The others look like American Coots.

That looks a little chilly for California.

5. Wildlife Refuge

about 150 miles from here. It's in the valley south of Chico. We travel through there to visit inlaws and on up to our cabin at Lake Almanor.

We're going up again this weekend and hope to get some good snow shots.
