Bluebirds from my backyard
Edited on Fri Feb-22-08 03:58 PM by Maestro
They were fighting or really just being harassed by a mockingbird defending its territory, but they held their own. They even had a chance to swoop down a few times and grab a bite to eat thanks to all the worms in my yard. Now if they could only eat the grubs. :)

Here are two from last winter....

1. My dear Maestro!
Oh, these are nice!

Very vivid, and sharp...

These birds look as though they would fight anything!

I think I would have cropped your newest ones, though...

The two from last winter are nicely framed!

Thank you for sharing!

4. Thanks Peggy
I actually did crop those new ones as well. ;) I feared going closer so as to lose too much sharpness.

3. Patience, luck, and some cooperation from the birds.
Mostly luck, oh and a little camera setting know-how and photochop skillz!

8. What a pretty bird.
and your shots, as usual, are just gorgeous.

I swear, you have the best eye for these critters, and an envious ability to capture them. They're all great, and I particularly like the bird on the barbed-wire shot and the one on the fencepost from last year.

Thank you for these.

On a personal note - There's a certain little girl who is going to be just delighted with these, too. I've bookmarked the page to share them with her.
