We Interrupt This Winter

1. Not much of an interruption, if you ask me

A foot or so of spring on the ground today . . . :D

6. (sigh) Yep ... that's what it looks like around here, too.

I'm so far past the point of just being 'tired' of winter I can't even find it in my rear view mirror. I doubt spring will EVER come again ... the world is gray and cold and dead. (groan)

12. Wow, the snow down there is just amazing...

We've been into a prolonged warming spell, mid-40s for a couple of weeks, even up in Fairbanks, where Friday was a record warm 48, I think they said. The ice sculptures were melting right in front of our eyes.

7. Same general neck of the woods

The main airport in our area shut down at 4:15 (Cleveland Hopkins) and Summit County (where my photos above photos were taken) had closed all roads to everyone except emergency vehicles by late afternoon or evening.

9. I put my tomatoes in this weekend

And some lettuce and planted some radish seed (so rewarding--they come up so fasst) and lemon cucumbers. I know I'm going to regret the tomatoes--if past years are an example, we'll still get some frost, but I couldn't resist. I screened some winter compost, got the house irrigation going and got a sunburn this weekend.

Paradise. Ah yes.
