I am so excited.

I just ordered a new camera from B&H Photo. I requested they send me an email alert when they got the new Canon Rebel XSi in stock. They got them in today, and I ordered it. It should come in less than a week.

I am really geeked. Now I have to learn how to use it. It's been years since I've used anything but full auto on any of my cameras. I'm sure that's where I'll start with this one, too, but I want to learn to "play" again with other options.

It's all your fault, you know. Visiting this forum and admiring all your handiwork, got me interested again in photography.

Can't wait...WoooHooo!

I just got my XTi last August. It's taken this long to learn its very few limitations, and learning its positive capabilities will keep my busy for a long time yet. I've read very good things about the XSi.

9. I came very close to buying the XTi.

They had a sale going on at Costco last summer. I stood there, held it, drooled on it, put it down, picked it up, etc. It was only with a great surge (ew...bad word choice)of self-control that it didn't end up in my cart.

5. Dang, it's time to upgrade my 20D

The Rebel even has a bigger viewing screen on the back. So glad I paid close to $2K for mine in 2004. Obsolescence indeed.

I know I've tended to snark at the "big two" (Canon and Nikon) in the past, but the 450D really looks like a nice camera -- Canon seems to have worked all the bugs out this time.
