Two shots from last October
Just sifting through the archives and found these. Thought I'd share. Haven't pulled the trigger on a camera other than a little paid work in the past few weeks. Jonesing, but everything is still really dull and dirty out. These took me back to a warm October afternoon on the waterfront.

2. Thanks! Good point.
Hell, if I get any older, carbon-14 dating will be required, or someone can just saw me in half and count the rings.

The water was unusually clear that day, considering the harbor in this town is pretty toxic. When I moved here, I quickly got used to Torontonians bragging about how clean the city was, with some justification, but the rivers and the waterfront have been consistently ill-treated for over two centuries. It's nice to get a chance to shoot the bay on a day where you could almost believe you'd be safe swimming in it.:scared:

3. It is amazing how toxic waters can look so harmless....
they have been doing a major restoration on the Napa River, which runs through the town where I grew up (lo those many years ago).

They say you can swim and waterski in it now, but I can't work up the interest...I remember when a person had to get shots if they were in it for any length of time.

Same for San Francisco Bay...people swim in it, but I am wary (plus it's frickin' COLD...)

:hi:
