First Photos with the new camera. (Canon EOS Rebel XSi)
I am having so much fun with this, and have had it with me constantly since it arrived. I haven't done much experimenting yet, sticking pretty much with full auto. So far, I'm very pleased with it, though I know there is much to learn to really appreciate its capabilities.

So here we go...

One of my students from last year, my horseloving buddy. This was cropped heavily. It was a full body shot with another little girl standing next to her, and a bunch of kids in the background, plus the school building.

Another one of my students from last year, and another heavy crop.

This is the river behind my house, The Milk River. Before the subdivision was built back in the '50s it went many miles inland from Lake St. Clair. Now its maybe only a half a mile long.

Using the macro on the White Pine in my yard.

And finally, a couple of fun shots, with yours truly in the reflections.

A cropped picture of one of the gazing balls in the yard.

One thing I have played with is the multiple shot option. It was amazing. I took at least 10 successive shots of one of the furpack walking across the lawn, in just a couple of seconds. Very cool. In looking back at the pictures, it was like looking at an old film, frame by frame.

2. Congrats!
You and your camera are off to a great start. I've been reading a little about the XSi. Guess now my XTi is a museum piece:)

It sounds like an amazing camera. Here's to many happy hours ahead for you and your XSi!:toast:
