My brother-in-law collects Studebakers...
and decided his niece (my youngest) should have one for graduation.

I don't think she likes it...

Not that she'll be driving it much with gas at over $4.00...

1. We had a Studebaker back in 1954.

I can still see that car in my mind. :)

2. I think my bil's collection is up to about 19 now...
minus the one he gave my daughter. He is a complete fanatic about 'em. My father-in-law collects them also...he has 7...I think...

For something more economical?

6. Not without destroying the collector's value of the ride...
this model was Studebaker's version of the Corvette...sort of...very fast, but bad on gas.

We are helping her buy a small Nissan for regular driving...I suspect the Studie will mostly get driven to meets or on special occasions...

7. Too great!
My parents had a Studebaker in '56 when I was born. I have some photos of myself as a fat baby at the steering wheel, but I won't be posting any.

8. My in-laws are totally into those cars...
...they even had a special barn built for them at their place in Oregon.

I suspect this one will be driven to a lot of meets.

14. You're barbecuing your city councilman...?

oh, wait...I thought you said "burgher"... :hide: now, was that joke an absolute abomination, or what...and yet, I could not resist.

Which also explains quite a lot about my life, but I digress.

Sounds like we've traded weather...overcast, cool, and windy here at the moment

EDIT: Punctuation and speeling... :dunce:

I am happy that it is more like summer now. Although today it is 87F, that is pretty heiss for Deutschland.

10. Very nice present!
I know another recent Drexel grad who would be happy to receive it should she really not fancy it.

13. Fancy it?...she damn near sleeps in the thing...
 and this is the High School graduation present for the younger daughter; the Drexel daughter must remain content with her jeep and Civic, for the time being...and there is NO WAY their uncle would give her a car like that for Philly's streets and traffic. :D

15. Oh my, no wonder she is smiling!
My kids were lucky to get used Fords after High School, although we are thinking of helping the youngest out with a DP because she is now 70K in debt after grad school. How are these kids ever going to buy homes or start families? I have to wonder.
