http://www.adn.com/news/alaska/story/713216.htmlFAIRBANKS -- State transportation officials say a nearly 20-mile stretch of the Richardson Highway south of Delta Junction is closed this morning because of snow slides.
The state says the highway is closed from Miles 193 to 211 because of snow slides and small avalanches. The closure starts near Trims and extends to approximately eight miles north of Paxson Lodge.
Department of Transportation spokeswoman Meadow Bailey says snow slides from hills next to the road have left the highway covered.
Meadow says a truck that tried to pass through early this morning got stuck. Work crews are working to clear the snow from both sides.
That would be through this area, I'm guessing.
It looks like we picked the right weekend to make our trek. :scared:
