1. Were these from a zoo?
I can't imagine being that close to an eagle out in the wild. Once I saw one about twenty yards away, and, no more.

I'm almost ready to become a birdwatcher now.

What is that last bird?

Isn't that last one a type of pigeon or exotic dove? Beautiful crest and sharp eye contact.

....for the compliment.

Yes, these are from the Dallas Zoo, which has a surprisingly good aviary exhibit.

Closest I had ever gotten to a bald eagle in the wild was at Yellowstone. Unfortunately, it was a very overcast day, and between the poor lighting and limited fatures on my old Sony Mavica FD-92, the pictures were not that great:







At least I was able to clean them up a little, post-production.:)

And for the life of me, I can't remember what the other bird was :shrug: ......other than beautiful.
