Spring in the desert (dialup warning)...

...here are some pictures I took out near Nelson, Nevada this weekend:

Teddy bear cholla cacti amid the wildflowers gives an interesting texture:



Brittlebush in bloom is bright and cheery:



Beavertail cactus just starting its bloom:



A tiny yellow woolly daisy adds a spark of color to the desert floor:

1. Seeing these is like taking a trip to a strange land. Wonderful images and only

vaguely familiar from an area of America the Beautiful I rarely get to see. The third one speaks to me the most but they are all beautiful. I have a photo of brittlebush I took at Hoover Dam, and have to dig it out. It's one I really like and never knew what it was of course.
I not only value the beauty of the photos but that you know what the plants are.
