Work in vain & other stuff
I'm thinking I should have entered the first one here in the contest, but I'm inscrutably serene and blithely content, otherwise.

Can't you change your entry by answering your own entry on the entry thread? That first one is great! How do you get all those leaves in that little dustpan? Seriously, is there a back story? Like is there a leaf bag that isn't in the picture? Where do the steps lead? I love pictures that leave questions unanswered. Of course, I want the answers! I wish you would change your entry to the first picture here. It is a "more than meets the eye" photo, and your entry, while very nice, is more "in your face" if that makes sense.

The other pictures are very nice as well. I love desolate looking photos, and the last one is certainly that. But all of them are really nice. Weird with the big hook hanging off the balcony too, and I the colors are great in that one.

5. I think this guy was just out sweeping up
litter & cigarette butts. But a neat coincidence that he was working near all the leaves.

Here's a shot of the street surgeon and his buddy. I would have entered this one, but I got some camera shake. More properly, the camera got me shake.

6. I love it
I must be not bothered by camera shake. I can't really see it(???) The main character is GREAT--the sunglasses, teeth, and hat, and arm. Very, very nice. So orange and yellow, like all road projects.

7. He looks like the gopher in caddyshack. And I don't think your Mr. Parkinson's Law
is sweeping cigarette butts out of the leaves. Don't spoil my extreme enjoyment of this photo with a potential parallel reality.

8. Jeff, I agree with Celebration...
The picture kept me mesmerized, sparked my imagination.
I could imagine a wind blowing up suddenly. Lol.
Can you enter it in the contest?
It defines " Work"....really.

2. These brought me joy in the morning, JeffR. The first one made me laugh out loud,
and in the retaining wall I simply love the lines.

3. The first one is the perfect illustration of Parkinson's law,
"Work expands to fit the time allotted"
Still grinning with high amusement about that photograph.

4. That first one made me laugh as well
I like the one you entered in the contest too. I can see why you had trouble deciding which one to enter.

9. I loved the first one!
Leaves are like laundry. No matter what you do there is always more coming.

10. When I drive in to Charleston early in the morning
They have city workers pushing brooms on the sidewalks. As I passed them this month - I thought that should be the picture I take for this contest...

I never stopped. Fortunately for us - you did!
