1. I hope everyone clicks on the link you provided.
Not just some of the best protest photos I've seen in a long time, but some of the best photos, full stop.

78-81 are just flat-out brilliant, and 48 is in a class by itself. Absolute masterpiece.

2. I'm really tired and my comment may be useless, but as a shot of human events,
of capturing the moment, of telling a tale your main photo rocks big time if only by the color change in her clothes from the environs, and her smile which carries apprehension. It's without equal of its kind.
I scrolled through the rest, and it seems like quite an event. Are these all your photos?
Like I said, I'm hung up on the intro one, it's fabulous.

3. Well, I would LIKE to view a few more...
but why the hell can't people use simple HTML galleries instead of these Flash thingies, unless they know what they are doing??

It would stay at 1 photo for 30 seconds, skip the next 4 photos, then do the next 5 photos in 5 seconds. And I couldn't go back to see the ones it skipped.

Flash is OK if people know how to implement it, and you're not trying to do two other things on your computer while you're viewing it, and your computer isn't more than 1-2 years old.

6. Well, Hello, Mr MattSh. I can't figure out what you are objecting to or
speculating about! Have you noticed that on the Photo Forum we go really easy on the belligerence? We just don't do it, and instead we are nice to each other
I just saw the photos without any problem whatsoever.
Maybe you try again? They're amazing.

8. As a fella on a 10-year-old Win98 'puter with a 'bottom tier' broadband connection ...
... I understand the frustration that seems evident in your tone. Quite often, Flash sites will cause a total lock-up on my aged 'puter, necessitating a hardware reset/reboot. Further, my laser mouse seems to have "un-debounced" itself, converting a click into 2 or 3 and causing me some gray hairs. Lastly, a Flash site just keeps on downloading and downloading. And downloading.

Oh well. Life's too short.

these are fantastic!

What started the arrests?

on edit: I forgot to say that I particularly like the shot of the guy in the lime green shirt with the cop who was smiling. While I know she was doing her job, it felt like she was really sympathetic.

12. This may seem like a silly question, but
what would be the point of being arrested for trespassing where all you did was cross a boundary line? (I can see the point of going into the building and staging a sit-in or something.)

14. That is what I was afraid of.
What is the point of civil disobedience when it is only symbolic? If you are going to go through the trouble of civil disobedience, why not do it in such a way that the target at least has to recognize your presence?

while they were getting "arrested" but, no, not this time

7. Hey, Wanna Jump, I'm all awake and alive now and saw them all. I must say they
take me back to the sights and the feel of protesting, and I'm damn experienced after the last 8 years. Still think your entry shot is a masterpiece, and some of the ones in the lineup are as well.. I think 68-70 and the later ones tell the story.
WOW

9. It's nice to see they left the doughnut shop for a moment.
I can't see a lot of those cops catching a perp in a foot race.

10. This is making me laugh out loud. I'm so used to seeing
overweight people, I had not noticed.
One can stand in an airport anywhere on earth I think, open the eyes for a split second, and know if you are in the US, or anywhere else by the size of the people.
A stewardess once said to me with a dead pan expression: The air bus holds 275 people, or 190 Americans.
(I am making up the numbers, forgot what they were)

20. Well, you'll notice in one of the photos the cops have Segways
with fat off-road tires.

"You feel lucky, punk?"

What a scary bunch of protesters! The good citizens can sleep so much better knowing those scary folks are locked up. :eyes:

18. I love the one with the big bruiser of a cop
escorting the very small woman. They couldn't find anybody bigger? I couldn't look at numbers fast enough to tell which number that was. Also love the female cop smiling as she escorted her catch.
