I'm baaaack. Do you know, non-stop, it takes 28 hrs. to drive from
the middle of NC to Santa Fe? We had 3 drivers, and we did take food and rest room breaks.

I rarely had a chance to "look in", we camped and it was tricky to get on line, but I did get my photo of historic places posted in the nick of time. I have so many I thought were contenders, but not enough time to chose, or ask for help to chose. I can say it here, without getting flamed, I took about 150-200 photos a day for almost 3 weeks. It was impossible not to.
I so hope you, my photo friends, won't mind looking at some in the future.

Here is one where 3 brave souls dared to climb down from the Pueblo on the mesa in the City in the Sky. Acoma, New Mexico. The rest of the about 30 member group took the bus down.
You see 2 of them in the photo, third is me with my camera, behind them.

1. that's scary
Don't they have ropes for stuff like that?

I hope you were able to sleep a bit in the car. It sure looked like a great trip! Glad to have you back.

4. You travelled with Indiana Jones?
I knew this "vacation" was really a cover for some death-defying quest to save the world. You rock!

Your pictures rock too. I'm loving what I'm seeing.

5. You are giving me happy laughs. The reason I refected
this picture as a potential entry was because the guy, whoever the daredevil is, looked so plastic.
I am thinking I'll take you folks on a tour of Acoma in pictures soon, and tell you a little about it.

7. I think would have tried the hard way down too, but
I would have handed you my camera equipment. Interesting image. Are what look like foot and holds natural?

8. Thanks for looking Maestro - the answer is that I believe the foot and hand holds
were chiseled in by the Indians ages ago, the steps in the walls down represent a huge time saving versus walking the slopes on the other side in order to get off the mesa.

Nobody could take the camera but I turned it around on it's double leather neck bands and bounced it on my back when I was not bracing to take photos.
GOD - it was such fun for an old lady.
