You can see Anchorage, the tidal mudflats and Cook Inlet/Turnagain Arm. If the sky was a little clearer, Redoubt volcano would be visible on the other side of the water.

3. Not from down here,

but we weren't really too far from Russia when we were out in Nome, 164 miles to Siberia, according to the sign outside the Nome Nugget Inn. Still couldn't see it, though. :)
