Snow Capped
The steps up to our door are covered in about an inch of ice. My photos have continued to be close to home.
This was a neighbor's plant. It would have died if I hadn't adopted it, repotted it, and kept it fed.

This is the only good shot I got from a day of near white out.

1. Sorry to hear you're snowed in
That's not much fun. Take care of yourself. Hope your plant is ok too. I like how the leaves are outlined with ice, but it can't be too good for it to be frozen like that.

2. Actually it is fun. I stocked up with food and fun stuff so I wouldn't have to
go out into the storm. So glad I'm no longer a mail man.

Hen and Chicks are pretty hardy. They've survived zero temps.

3. Good to know you're well provisioned
In that case, yeah, snow storms can be fun. Having to work outside in that weather would suck. Mailmen must be a tough breed.

6. I wouldn't have done it earning minimum wage. It's hard work.
It's dangerous (especially the rural route carrier's job) and will wear your body down. I was the third carrier in a row that became 100% disabled on that particular route. It was ten miles of walking over rolling hills and mostly unshaded city streets.

7. Sorry to hear that
I've heard it's a difficult job, but I had no idea it was that rough on the body.

8. I was the luckiest of the three. I'm OK, and happy.

9. Rural UPS driver here.
It's my only ambition to get out of there on my own two feet. Sorry to hear you got taken out by a disability, but I have to imagine there is some consolation in being able to look out on a bad day like that and knowing you can stay inside if you want to.

10. The cold is better than the heat. In the cold you can put more clothes on.
In the summer they will arrest you if you get "too comfortable" in public.

I started working at age 10. I brought it on myself. Bodies wear out.
