5. Pistles...is that what they are called?
that abundant group of tendrils in Pic #3...reminds me of the "connection tendrils" in the tails of Na'vi.

8. Awesome shots, Alfredo.
I picked number 4 because I like that big drop of water.

11.  I don't like flash, but it worked on 5.
One from yesterday. It was a tough shoot yesterday. It was windy and my arthritis flared up on the ride to the park. That made hand held images tough.

14. I like the one you entered
Honestly, I've clicked on this thread a dozen times and still can't decide which I like better. Too many good choices.

16. The one I entered was a simpler statement. My plans for a black and white
spring got seduced by the sexy colors of spring.

17. It's hard to resist
You inspired me to play around with b/w too. B/W spring deserves it's own thread. I think I'll start one when I get home.

18. I found that changing the mode to B&W works better than desaturate on some

flowers. I rarely use B&W, but I think it is time to revisit it.

The Arthritis flareup put a stop to much of my activities.

20. I haven't tried the b&w mode yet
It slips my mind. I haven't been able to get out much lately either because I hurt my foot. It sucks being inside this time of year.

22. B&W = grayscale. That really sucks being hurt. Hope you can get out soon.

21. Oh that's very nice
There's very good contrast and I like the sparkly bits in the centre. Do you find any particular type of flower or colour is better for b&w?

23. It's got to be a flower with well defined components and colors. My attempts to
desaturate Daffodils was less than satisfactory. Greyscale worked better, but still there wasn't enough contrast between the parts of the flower.

The sparkly bits is moisture left over from the seven inches of rain we had.

24. That makes sense
Sometimes the flashiest flowers don't make the most interesting subjects without the colour. I wonder if that's how bees see them since they see in UV?

btw I've started a b&w spring thread if you want to add to it. Here http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=280x73259

5. Don't know why I like it so much but I do. All are great photos but that one just pulls me in and keeps me coming back.

15. The stamen all direct your eyes. After the bloom has gone, they turn into
golden threads.
