Poll question: Host Entering: One proposed amendment to Jeff'Rs original poll on the subject of contest rules

I propose the amendment--

"The contest host may not enter their own photo contest, but may choose the theme in any manner that they decide."

is amended to read--

"The contest host may not enter their own photo contest, but may choose the theme in any manner that they decide. The quarterly seasonal contests are an exception to that rule, and the host may enter those contests."

1. While I like that it takes the onous off of us to come up with a theme

I thought it was more democratic process. Just my humble opinion. I haven't been on here for so long I don't even know if I count for anything anymore. BWAHHAAA!!

4. ah, well a slightly different issue

Actually the hosts have always been able to choose the theme, IIRC. It is just that a lot of them use polls to determine the choice. So, there really isn't any change there. This is to correct the issue of the host of the seasonal contests participating.

2. I'm so glad that got "caught" and that you are on it.

I would like to say though, that if the host enters in the seasonal contest, there needs to be a co-host in case it looks like he/she is winning. Then the other host can take over and impartiality is saved.

I'm sure the host would take any volunteer help for the finals. :evilgrin: Probably doesn't need to be written into the rules.

I know you were not the "catcher" you were the one who "ran with the ball", and I'm glad for that.

I did not know about any rules concerning seasonal contests, except that the two hosts could enter, when I offered to help regnaD kciN in the winter contest because Blueraven95 was too busy.

When it turned out the photo I entered was on a path to win my lack of knowing how things work made things a bit difficult.

I did win that one, (the little red cardinal protecting his spot at the feeder in the snow)
and D kciN had to jump in etc. It was awkward for me fumbling around not knowing how to proceed.

That's why I brought it up.

Maybe the thing to lay down is that the seasonal contests need two hosts, who then both can enter. And if there is only one host, he/she can't enter.

I brought it up because my ignorance made me feel foolish.
