Just for Mira -- the latest from Sebastian and Aiman
Here is Sebastian, rock star in the making, with the guitar he got for his third birthday

And Aiman, the budding rock climber

1. Here I AM
Thank you Blue, that is exactly what I was hoping to see. I want to watch them grow. And by now I think I have achieved my goal: I'd like to be able to walk up to them cold and say: I KNOW who you are.

They are getting big and strong, with Sebastian being the delicate one, his expression is both adoring and adorable, with Aiman more the bruiser (I hope that is a complimentary word) I mean strong and persevering and reminding of a small head strong truck coming through.

What two precious grand babies you have.
I'm so happy for all of you.

2. Mira
Hi IS a bruiser! You have no idea. The kid has no fear whatsoever. Thanks for checking in on my family! I have the cutest son (and nephew) in the world! :-)

3. Glad you ask Mira.

Aiman I see on the blog, though even his photos are a few days old. It is fun to watch him grow---without getting the gray hair he is going to give his parents. Lack of fear can be a good thing once they learn healthy respect but the learning can be hard on the ones that love him.

Now it really has been a long time since we've seen Sebastian and he has grown so much in the last year. Three is a great age, they can not only tell you no but tell you why they are not doing whatever. It is the age where you get a taste of how their mind works, because they have enough words to explain.

We are only missing Sage and Colt photos to get updates on all the grands. Did they get to spend summer in CO?

4. Yes, they'll be back in Anchorage on the 21st, I believe.
Here's one Heather sent me of Sebastian and Colt from earlier in the summer. Sage is a little more camera shy, but I'm going to get him when he gets back here. Also we're going to Denver the end of September, so I'll have some first-hand pics of Sebastian.

7. Colt is a completely new entity to me, and so is the elusive Sage.
I'll be watching and learning about them, too, if you post the pictures you'll be taking. This one is precious.
They love and trust each other.

I know about little boys. I had five younger brothers, and my only child is a boy, too.

 I think they're pretty special, too.

By the way, as a musician, Jeff, you might be interested to hear some of the new music that Heather and Robby have written and recorded. I like "Nemesis" especially. Check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mother-of-Pearl/120204578023993?v=app_2405167945
(Heather assures me the lyrics don't come from personal experience; she just made them up. If you listen, you'll know why I was a bit concerned the first time I listened to this. )

9. Thanks for the link! Just listening now
and they're great. What a voice! (And I can appreciate your initial concern.)

10. One of the things I really like about Heather
is that she's not very good at lying. If she tells me those words came out of her imagination and not out of her experience, I have to believe her. Pretty scary lyrics, though. I almost get wasted just listening to them. :wow:

11. It's a strange thing about songwriting
that sometimes you can get into the head of a fictional character and come out with something that sounds completely personal and emotionally gripping. I've done it once or twice. Some people seem to be able to just turn it on whenever they want to.
