1. #1 is something that needs a little work Imho
But #2 Jackpot!!! Great Idea!!! I think that if you put it in a white box and had the same lighting effect shooting the entire shell would be incredible...

Not tellin' you what you should do, but with that shell and the alabaster colors....... The sky's the limit....

AND............. You dun good also...... <grin>

2. Thank you for the feedback and for the kudo and suggestion on the shell. Yet -
hold my hand - what kind of work does the parsley visitor need?
Maybe a deep sixing of it is in order :)
I liked the light and the crisp fall coolness of it.

5. To address #1
The focus bothers me. Some of the parsley is in focus as well as the leaf, and the leaf in shadow throws interest back to the parsley rather than keeping it on the main subject. Also the position of the leaf is too perfect. I think it might have worked better if the leaf were slightly more flat. Have a word with the leaf god, will you.

7. I think some feedback other than stunned and awed is really nice.
I see what you are saying, yet, to me it's kind of "in your face" the way I saw it, and does not really have a main subject except a photo of "just being there", and I like the way it goes back and forth in what is of interest. Parsley/Leaf/Shadows/Sunshine.

There is probably a lot to be said for the interpretation of it being just boring.

I was raking some more today, and took another couple of parsley pictures. Later I'll look at them, maybe the leaf god will have mercy on me and give them some more appeal.

thanks though, I think that's what we need to do more of, critique rather than just clap our hands.
A few times I have seen people here call for the critiquing of photos, and each time I see it fizzle out in the protection of our egos.

12. Nice Critique
NV, I like your wording on your critique, I think that is exactly what I was seeing and just couldn't find the words...

Mira, in no way did I mean to demean you or your work, I just couldn't find the words to put and think that with a little more lurking I will be able to converse in here a whole lot better... I too, have a whole lot to learn and enjoy very much being with people of my persuasion to have that chance.

13. All is well, and as it should be. Don't dare change! You are perfect.
Have I mentioned how much I like the ship/boat photo you took that is all but overrunning the house?

Now there is a photo that is NOT boring!

6. Mira, I don't know
It just doesn't reach out and touch me, perhaps it is bland...... I can't put my finger on what it is, perhaps it is just my view of what I see, and I am not getting any feelings from it.

3. the shell is glorious
I can only access now via hubby's laptop. I see now why we have the size limits on the contest! Can't wait to see these on a bigger screen.

I just really love the last one for pattern and color.

4. That shell is great.
I like the way the leaf is suspended...almost free floating.

9. It does indeed. I was reminded of rows of teeth inside something tiny
...a never-before-seen-until-now kind of thing.
