A visit to the Masonic Temple in the center of Asheville at Thanksgiving
The Temple and a prominent local group of Thespians had contracted with each other: If they can use the theater and the stage now and in the coming year they will donate a percentage of the admission to help with the repair of the building.

These pictures are shown to give you a feel for the building without people milling about.
I suspect access to it is usually not easily attained.

The public is there to see a performance of Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
I plan to show you the peopled other side of the evening, and a bit of history of the fascinating stage in another set of pictures.

1. The color of the seats really caught my eye.
Looks like they need someone do a bit of maintenance.

You are so lucky your Masonic Temple is old and getting ragged around the edges. Much more interesting that way. I bet the basement is a wonderland, same for the kitchen.

Very good images, I want more.

2. Thanks - glad you like seeing these. It means a lot having a place such as this

to share experiences. This would be the precise opposite of the performance places Trusty Elf shows us. I'm smiling big now, because that just popped into my mind.

To tell you the truth, all I wanted to do in that building is crawl around the rooms and all the areas I was not permitted to go to.
During intermission I did a little of that.

About more pictures:
YOU KNOW that it is dangerous to encourage me, don't you?

Edited to add:
I loved the look of the chairs, may post another photo, but honestly, the big nail that stuck out of mine, upwards, and that I caught my butt on several times during the performance, was not part of my enchantment.
Luckily my butt is of modest size, and I could dodge the nail when I remembered its presence.

4. Great shots, but just one question
What were you doing in the men's restroom?

5. I cross dress. I thought you knew.
Well, the rest room was billed as "Women". Once I was inside my eyes popped and my camera hiccuped to let me know a photo was indicated.

I don't know why these urinals were there.

I have a photo of the toilet, too. Might show it for Alfredo and Richard and your curious self another day.

7. Being a Masonic Temple
and 100 or so years old, there would be no women's rooms, so to speak... they just designated one as such when they went public for functions.

8. Love this set.
It captures the character of the building as well as the architecture, not at all an easy thing to do. Look forward to more of these.
