I waited to post this until I was sure - THE PIGEONS ARE GONE!
We had pigeons roosting up in our rafters, and making a HUGE ruckus everyday (not to mention the mess of pigeon droppings on our deck). We went to the hardware store, we went to the big box home improvement stores, we went to a feed store, but to no avail, no one seemed to have anything in stock to get rid of them. We had the howling owls, but they annoyed us (our front deck is off the master bedroom).

We finally did a Google search and found something online called "Bird Proof" which is applied with a caulking gun to the areas where they roost. Apparently the stuff is irritating to their feet. It works!

:woohoo:

1. In the canyons of NYC I've seen all the pigeon repellents
After a couple of years the caulking gun stuff seems to wear off and they will be back if still in the area and your rafters are still appealing. The most popular that works long term are the long spike strips if you can deal with the appearance, second is the low voltage wire if you keep it working.

2. Oh, congratulations!
I loathe pigeons. They carry nasty disease and what their copious crap does to stucco is to make you weep. Last year they NESTED in one of our canales, in the space between the floor of the balcony and the roof of the garage. I looked between the floor cracks and saw the nest with an egg in it. I got a wire plant support, shoved it through the crack and busted the egg. The little shites laid another one. I busted that one, and used the hose on high-pressure jet to wash the nest right out of the canale. You'd think they'd get the message, but NO, they just moved to the canale at the other end of the balcony.

I ended up going to the hardware store and getting some hardware cloth (wire mesh) and some wire bracket gadgets, and some rubber tie-downs, and improvising "pigeon excluders" for those canales. They're not pretty, but they do work. Unfortunately, I could only install them on the lowest canales, I wasn't about to do the ones up along the roofline.

So we still have the filthy little crappers on the roof from time to time. I hope they don't nest there this year.

vindictively,
Bright

3. They are a scourge
Yes, pigeons and stucco are a bad combination.
