Four baby robins - looked ready to fledge and I inadvertendly
startled them this afternoon. All four flew the nest. One came back to the vicinity, but the parents are frantically calling for the past two hours. I feel terrible.

Anyone have any experience with this? Do they fly close by and just can't reconnect? The one that came back is staying in one place. It will be dark soon.

1. if they were able to fly from the nest, they're probably ok
They will likely find cover and call to the parents.

Unless, of course, you have free-roaming cats...

2. Thanks for responding semillama
:hi: They flew into the trees (we live in a forest next to a lot more forest). We don't have cats nor do our two closest neighbors. I obsessed over this all night on Saturday since I only saw the one baby come back to the vicinity. Today, I thought I heard some young birds cheeping in the trees next to the house. Hopefully, they all found their parents.

They are about a week old. This is a fertile pair of adults :-).
