Obama regains ground in Texas caucuses

WASHINGTON -- Barack Obama regained lost ground in the fierce competition for Democratic convention delegates on Wednesday based on results from the Texas caucuses, partially negating the impact of Hillary Rodham Clinton's string of comeback primary victories.

Late returns showed Clinton emerged from Rhode Island, Vermont, Texas and Ohio with a gain of 12 delegates on her rival for the night, with another dozen yet to be awarded in The Associated Press' count.

That left Obama with an overall lead of 101 delegates, 1,562-1,461 as the rivals look ahead to the final dozen contests on the calendar. It takes 2,025 to win the nomination.

The two presidential contenders made the rounds of the morning television news shows, agreeing on little - except that their historic struggle would continue at least until the Pennsylvania primary on April 22.

Obama Wins Delegate Fight in Texas

Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 06:03 PM by easy_b94
AUSTIN -- Obama Texas State Director Adrian Saenz issued a statement on the projected primary and caucus results that show Senator Obama won more Texas delegates than Senator Clinton.

“By fighting the primary to a near-draw and earning a resounding victory in the caucus, the people of Texas have moved Barack Obama one step closer to claiming the Democratic nomination for president,” said Adrian Saenz. “Texans in both parties and of all ages sent a clear message that the American people are ready for the kind of change that Barack Obama will bring to Washington, DC as our 44th President."

Because of the close finish, Senator Clinton will likely net only two delegates up-for-grabs in the Texas Primary. Based on a large sample of caucus results in all 31 state senate districts, Senator Obama is projected to post a substantial victory in the Texas caucus and, thereby, net at least seven delegates. This means that Senator Obama will win at least five more pledged delegates from Texas than Senator Clinton.

3. I sent them to her already
What she does will do w/ them I don't know.

I bet she will bring up the Spanish newspaper
slam ..... In private she told me some real crap
that team Hillary has been doing against her ...
kinda like the low rent shit in Texas ..... Steph
is very nice but she has real bitter feelings about
Hillary & her crew. "They" play real nasty.

As for her doing things for me .... well .... well ... well
things were going real good between me and steph
but i .... i .... i got her lost in Columbus when we
dropping her off @ her hotel.

After that she seemed a little "cold." It then hit me then
here little old me was w/ a beautiful women a who was just
on Larry King and I get her lost in
a nasty section of Columbus. Dr. Smooth was not in.

Her hug & kiss to me good night was a little "cold."

*************************

BTW w/ my tin foil hat on I think the caucus results might
be a better gauge of Obama's support than the primary vote
because it might have been altered by a large cross over
vote from the right trying to hurt Obama.

In Ohio links are now being made between Rev. Rod Parsley
(Kenny Blackwell friend) and support for Hillary. Seems like
there was so very republican areas where the vote was largely
democrat yesterday.

4. Aw, Bot...don't blame yourself.
Steph had a good time and she knows it.

You haven't lived until you've been lost in the bad part of Columbus on a Saturday night.

It's like I told you...I haven't had that much pointless fun since my last weekend of being 20, when I went to Parkersburg, West Virginia to drink, because back then the WV drinking age was still 18.

You ARE "Dr. Smooth." You're just "Dr. Smooth who can't get from one end of Hilliard to the other, even with GPS in the car."

And the EDVs love you for it. :loveya:

6. We passed her hotel 2 times.

I should have driven my truck and had all the girls follow.
I have driven those roads 100s of times.

The girls =
Steph, Tr*** er Berry, Dave, & John.

I also should have said no to all the people who wanted
to come hang out w/ steph too. She was beat and
wanted to relax but w/ 30 people around her that was
hard.

8. Don't blame yourself for that, either.
Believe it or not, I have some experience in your shoes. Not with Mama but with someone else. I actually told Dave in Gahanna's boyfriend about it. I can always PM you. But really, I know exactly how you feel.

One minute I was holding her as she went to sleep for
a few minutes on my chest ... i was standing and she was
in a stool right by me .... and not long after that ... steph &
me .... not so much

what is it about making a tired women stay up late
and getting lost in a really bad part of town that
makes you guys grumpy?
She did not laugh when I said "there was just a stabbing
here last week."

BTW the turn out for her was amazing

I also saw a women I had gone out w/ that night @ the get together too ....
I thought the smart move was to sneak away .... ....
before she saw me. When i did that i saw mama for the frist
time coming down the stairs ... she gave me a nice hello
but I couldn't talk to her for about 2 hours later .... there was
a line of 500 people or more waiting to get their pix taken w/
her. She saw me and started laughing.

Berry stole her Jewelry too.

9. The part about the stabbing was probably TMI, Bot.
And yeah, sure, I "stole her jewelry." More like, she throws a bracelet at me and says "Here, you can have this."

So somewhere in Columbus is a poor fan who thought the OSU Buckeye bracelet they so carefully crafted would be on Stephanie's wrist by now...and instead, it's on mine.

That's gotta be a bummer. I wouldn't tell 'em if I were you.
