I will be stuck in a horrible Pastor-Parish Meeting tonight.
Please, if you are so inclined, pray for me.
It's gonna get ugly when we confront someone who is literally out to get me. I've been a nervous wreck all day, and would give anything to not have to go. :scared:

I'll try to report in later tonight. Thanks.

Kill em w/ kindness ... and then come back here and tell us
what an A-hole the person was .....

BTW I would be honored if you were my pastor.

Except I have not read the theology of St. Farve .... and ye shall go long.

I am having brats tonight in your honor

10. Well, the short version of a very long story:
This meeting was worse than I thought.
I am probably calling the District Superintendent tomorrow, and making an appoinment to speak with him - and I'm bringing along one of my parishoners, who will speak on just how fucked up this place is.

I came very, very close to walking. Not just walking out of the meeting, but also telling the D.S. to move me. I still haven't made up my mind about that.

I came home at 9:30, and heard Keith on the TV, but just didn't have the energy to listen to what sounded like outrage. I'm raged out, and need to make some important decisions.

Goddamned Christians - We need a membership drive, and need to drive several members right out of the church. :eyes::banghead:

Someone pour me a drink, please.

11. Did I ever tell you that you are my Fav?
I am dealing w/ the same thing on a much smaller scale right now ...
St. John's Episcopal in Worthington, OH ... oldest Episcopal church
west of the Mts. (Allegheny) .... I have made nice gardens and grounds
for years here and yet since the rector (my buddy) has left I have had
to deal w/ no budget and people who want to "control" what needs to
be done and they know nothing .... :grr:

12. Hey, Cuddles....
I'm reading a new book, and will lead a study of it sometime this summer. It's called "They Like Jeus but Not the Church." Lays out all the gripes the younger generations have against the institution.

Personally, I think they (parishoners) should be institutionalized.

16. If you come out here to a church near me
I would be tempted to go back to church in spite of my not liking organized religion. Unfortunately I live way too far from your dad and he needs you more.
 Pope Cheesy. I don't know how any of you can do your jobs without going postal sometimes. Seems to always be some in every church that want to ruin it for the minister and other members. Let go and let God, he will give you the answer. Sending lots of :hug:s.

As always, your words ring true with lots of wisdom.
Maybe I'll feel differently tomorrow, but right now, I'm ready to move on. Hey - maybe I'll get to move closer to Dad!

bit of stress off you. Isn't Dad in a college town too? Getting younger people into church might be good too.
I :loveya: too even if I am MIA more often than not. It is Butterball's fault. Somehow the damn cat has decided that if he hears Keith's voice it is time for him to be brushed. He meows and then stabs my leg with his claws if I don't take the furminator to him fast enough. Upside is he has lost almost 5 lbs in fur.
At 9 he is finished and it is time to vacuum the carpet. I might get him a lion cut this summer just to get even.

Just a thought. Not much of a rectory, but it does have a boiler room.

Don't let the asshats get you down, Rev! :loveya:

I am so sorry to hear this.

Sometimes there are "good Christians" you just want to take and pop 'em one.

Have some refreshments:

and keep us posted, will you?

23. Did he retire from this particular church?...
perhaps he can give you something to use on the ingrates. What's the primary gripe? Or, are there a lot of little gripes rolled up in a rattlesnake-like mating ball? Maybe your parishioners can be rolled up in a rattlesnake-like mating ball. And pushed over the nearest cliff!
