I was offered a chance to play "David Gregory" to the candidates for the State Rep race for my district. Did that ever give me an insight into what reporters on the political beat go through!

I honestly thought I came up with questions that were fair to all (2 of the 4 running haven't held any political office at all & 1 didn't go to college), but the more they spoke, the more I could see that some questions were better for some candidates than others. I heard a "well, that one was for candidate A" but later someone made a comment that another one of my questions was tailored to make Candidate B look better than the others. :eyes:

And I got a big helping of the frustration the WH reporters must feel when Chummy McSharkbait doesn't answer the f'n question!!! I kept wanting to stand up & say "objection, nonreponsive," but I wasn't in court. :evilfrown:

Here's my take on the "outrage" regarding the speeches given at Coretta Scott King's funeral: If you aren't a member of the immediate family, STFU! If that's how they wanted it & feel that their mother/grandmother would have wanted it that way, then it sucks to be you. (this is a sore spot for me because one of my bitch sister-in-laws tried to railroad me into doing my father's funeral the way SHE wanted, not the way I knew he wanted it done. :grr: )

Oh wow, perfect timing for a "suspicious" substance to be found in the Senate Office Buildings AGAIN!!! I thought shrubbie was supposed to keep us safe & we were only going to be attacked if Kerry was elected!

I will never check baggage when I fly. I never take more than I can bring onto the plane myself. Or if it's a real dinky plane, well, they make you hand it over anyway, but then they give it right back to you in the jetway so there's no chance of losing it.

Besides, I've heard too many horror stories of baggage handlers just going through your stuff and taking what they want.
