I had not had a drop of keith for months and months until one September night when the New Orleans channel I was watching online stopped it's 24/7 local coverage of the holy terror called Katrina. I had my face pressed way too close to the monitor to see the small screen better but I heard him before I saw him - du du du du du (that's how those opening notes look when you type them out) and I freaked. It was a heart skipping, I haven't seen you in ages, get over here and give me a hug kind of thing. The local coverage had stopped for the first time in a week to make room for an hour of Countdown and what I heard from Keith brought tears to my eyes, it was like deja vu all over again; Keith finally being the one to say what we weren't hearing on the news, what's that called? Oh yeah, the truth. He was mad, he sounded just as mad as me. It was like an alcoholic walking open mouthed into a spray of bear, I had to have more. The next day for the first time since November 2004, I called up the cable company and asked them to hook me up with some Keith. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH. That's nice. I have to say there's still not much else of quality on and since I only watch countdown and some travel shows, it's a really expensive fix but so worth it.
I haven't been posting here in a while, I've been spending spare time working for our county dem party but I thought I'd pop in here and say hi to the people who made me feel most welcome back when I first came to DU (When I found DU after the election I spent most of my time in the 2004 election forum learning more than I ever knew about how our government does things. The countdown threads helped me keep up with the show and someone <sorry I don't remember who> was sweet enough to give me a star after a 'hot dem candidate pool photo scavenger hunt'. Good times.
