10. I shut off the local TV news today. For good.

I read THIS masterpiece from Keith last night, go to bed, get up in the morning, turn on local news (primarily for the weather) and what are they saying?

They're reporting that Newsweek retracted the story, that the White House doesn't think it's enough, showing a tape of the riots and a tape of Rummy saying it's JUST NOT ENOUGH and THEY NEED TO APOLOGIZE MORE because PEOPLE HAVE DIED HERE and it's ALL NEWSWEEK'S FAULT and MORE GROVELING AND APOLOGY really needs to be done by that magazine. Also, that the source of the information was SUPPOSEDLY reputable (this said with some regretlike shaking of local news anchors' heads).

That was it. IT. IT. On to the next story!

I turned the station off. What kind of crappy excuse for reporting is THAT??

From now on, I will get my local news from the local paper (which will at least have more than ONE side of a story in it), my morning weather from the Weather Channel, and the rest of my news from Keith.

Sheesh.
