Anyone tried Nuvaring- a new BC method
http://www.nuvaring.com/Consumer/index.asp?SetSession=Yes&strGUID={ADC0C11D-C399-4E34-9240-9A0E7615BECC}&SID=356308101

I'm going to try it next month. It has a very low dose of estrogen. I have had some high blood pressure so I need to do as low a dose as possible and I'm not too happy with the progestin only pill.

If anyone has tried it...is it hard to insert/remove? Any side effects?

thanks!

1. I tried it *very* briefly
found out through a careful reading of the prescribing information that the antiseizure medication I take to prevent migraine renders it ineffective as BC. You'd think the doctor would have known that. :eyes:

I did the math and calculated that if I'd used four of them, it would offset the antiseizure med, which made me wonder if they came in colors: I could have made it a carnival game for my husband; capture the ring and win a prize! But seriously, they're easy to remove and not that difficult to insert. They're a bit stiffer than I thought they'd be, but you just fold them in half, insert one end, and keep tucking until the ring is comfortably in place. It doesn't have to be in a specific position and you and your partner will probably not notice it.

2. well after using it for a while I have to say I really like it
just have to wait till I get my blood pressure checked to make sure I can keep using it.

My honey said he felt it but it didn't bother him. It's nice not to have to worry about birth control every day or every time we have sex.

3. No problems?

I'm just constantly trying to find a balance with birth control and I'm always looking to explore my options. My blood pressure tends to be low and I don't smoke, so that's cool. However, too much estrogen- I put on weight and too little estrogen gives me continual breakthrough bleeding.

 :banghead:
