I hate the direction this primary is taking...
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 04:04 PM by Kerry2008
The media has backed both candidates into a corner of who can get the best six o'clock sound byte.

Why don't they focus on Hillary when she's talking about the issues?

If this was about the issues and solutions, Hillary Clinton would be leading right now.

I'm really frustrated by this process, and how the media has backed both candidates into a bloodbath.

Hillary Clinton is the best candidate. And they're too busy covering the political game of this election, and not worrying that some of us have lives that are improved or destroyed by whose going to be the next President of the United States.

1. Yeah, the media has done it before and will do it again
We forget that two words have entered our lexicon strictly because of what happened to Dems running: Gored and Swiftboated. Dems should be screaming bloody murder at the media. We should be challenging them every time they focus on something stupid and ignore substance. Remember Gore's "earthtones"? Kerry's windsurfing and his troublesome choice of cheese on a sandwich?

The media does this because they don't understand substantive issues, and don't want to. As the useless Margaret Carlson once said about trashing Al Gore "it's our sport." Yes, they like to spout garbage, as long as it's about a Democrat.

Everybody needs to be aware of what is and will be happening during both the primaries and the GE. It doesn't matter who you support right now; if it's a Democrat, he or she will be an object of derision by the media, if we let them do it yet again. If Obama supporters think he's Teflon Man, they'd better think again. He may be a media darling now, but the lost souls in the media will have him in their crosshairs if he wins the nomination, while they stroke St. John McCain.

2. Yes, the MSM has been playing 'cat and mouse'
with our candidates ... facilitating the GOP strategy.

I've seen, and appreciate, your efforts to encourage more moderate, issue-based discussion in GD-P. They don't want any part of that because they lose on the issues. They just want to drown out our voices.

4. Exactly. If this wasn't a bitter battle of both sides, and about the issues...Hillary would be...
...leading right now.

So much passion on both sides. And I'm not talking about DU. I'm talking about in the real world among Obama and Clinton supporters. It's not about the issues anymore. It's about "Obama said this" and "Well, Clinton said this"

6. Which is worse. The media or the people here that buy into it?
