Vettel keeps title bid on track with Brazilian GP win

Sebastian Vettel revived his Formula One world championship hopes by winning Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix in dominant fashion.

Vettel quickly passed pole sitter Nico Hulkenberg for the lead heading into the first corner of the opening lap. The young German relinquished the lead only when he pitted. He finished 4.2 seconds ahead of his Red Bull Racing teammate Mark Webber for his fourth win of the season and the ninth of his F1 career.

Red Bull's 1-2 finish in the Brazilian GP allowed the team to wrap up the 2010 F1 constructors' championship, with a sizeable points lead over McLaren.

Two weeks ago in South Korea, Vettel started on the pole and led the way for the first 46 laps before he suffered engine failure, resulting in a 17th-place finish. Webber also had a setback in the Korean Grand Prix, as he crashed in the opening laps and wound up finishing 23rd.

"It was an incredible effort from the team, and it's not been an easy season, especially I think we had with races like Korea," Vettel said. "I think it was the right answer for the team to come here and never mind what happened in Korea. The team stayed focus and pulled on one string to get us both one-two and get the constructors' championship one race before the end. It's fantastic."

Red Bull's maiden constructors' title came in the team's sixth year in F1 competition.

"It's just an awesome team result and testimony to every single member of this team at Red Bull; to achieve this is unbelievable," Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said.

The drivers' championship will be settled in next Sunday's season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with 24 points currently separating the top-four drivers.

Fernando Alonso from Ferrari finished third and remained the points leader. Alonso holds an eight-point advantage over Webber, with Vettel 14 points behind. Lewis Hamilton, who finished fourth, trails by 24.
