"Mean Jean" Schmidt Gets Reprimand - False Statements Cited
Schmidt gets reprimand
'False statements' cited; McEwen's residency upheld
BY JON CRAIG | ENQUIRER COLUMBUS BUREAU

COLUMBUS - A unanimous Ohio Elections Commission voted to issue U.S. Rep. Jean Schmidt a public reprimand Thursday for "false statements" - claiming she had a second undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati that she never received.

A letter citing the campaign's "reckless disregard for truth" was to be sent by the commission today to Schmidt, her campaign and her husband, Peter, as committee treasurer. It's the most serious punishment short of fines or criminal prosecution.

Schmidt spokesman Allen Freeman said the campaign would appeal the 7-0 ruling.

The reprimand comes just five days before the May 2 primary. Schmidt and former Rep. Bob McEwen are locked in a fierce Republican Party battle for the 2nd Congressional District seat nomination.

William Todd, Schmidt's attorney, conceded, "Yes, there was a mistake and the mistake was corrected."

The commission dealt two other blows to the Schmidt campaign Thursday by:

2. They are going to appeal the reprimand
That is rich. She lied. They admitted it. To a small degree she was held accountable for her actions. And they are appealing. Let me guess. She is a republican.

3. Is there anyone in Ohio who hasn't figured out that the republicans
are a bunch of criminals?

How can somebody vote for people like this. :wtf:

4. Take the same feeling you have for Republicans...
That is how they feel about us. That disgust is the reason they elect people like Mean Jean.

5. Are you aware of what has been happening in Ohio?
It is the REPUBLICANS who are being caught red-handed stealing taxpayer money and abusing their offices.

RATIONAL people would stop supporting criminals just because they have an (R) next to their name.

Are there some big Democratic scandals I am not aware of in Ohio?

If not, then anyone who feels the same way about the Democrats is IRRATIONAL and loyal to their party like a stupid brownshirt.

7. Yes, they are irrational...
and I was just trying to tell you why. They think we're purple people eaters or something.

We are up against stupidity and hatred, and that combination has been responsible for many tragedies.

The Democrat could be a complete angel, but they would never win. The pukes would probably devote their time to the liar and cheater.

That is how bad our situation in America has become.

8. While some may "feel" that way about us,
precious little has been done to justify it. Most of those feelings may come from ideological differences. Few can deny what the Repugs have been doing lately, and their actions are fact.

9. The difference is..
... we have 10 times the factual evidence to back up our claim.

Nobody "forgets" what degrees they've earned. That's preposterous.

6. Notice how all responses to scandal, fraud & crime committed by repubes
is always in the passive tense..

mistakes were made
errors happened
bad advice was given
pictures were inadvertantly used

etc
etc

They never say "I screwed up"..."I made a mistake"

It's always someone else's oversight or error that CAUSED them to be the VICTIM. And THEY are the party of "personal responsibility"?

12. This woman is the arm pit of Congress.
The commission dealt two other blows to the Schmidt campaign Thursday by:
Tossing a complaint against McEwen that he made false statements about living and voting in Ohio. A bipartisan panel of the commission voted 3-1 to find "no probable cause" to hear evidence on that complaint, filed by Schmidt's campaign manager.

To underscore what he said was Schmidt's hesitance to admit the errors, Urling's Hyde Park attorney, Christopher P. Finney, read portions of Schmidt's 68-page deposition in which she says "I don't know," "I'm not sure," "I can't answer that," or "I don't remember" at least 50 times.

13. Her opponent should use that in his/her campaign

..............................

A good campaign ad would "mention", that MeanJean is not "up for the job" since it required close attention to details on a myriad of issues, and someone with such a bad memory..(especially when it concerns things of importance..like one's own college degrees) is just not capable to do the job..

14. I'm praying for a Dem to throw her dessicated old hide out of
Congress in November.

She might like that. Then she can call John Murtha and other veterans cowards if she wants to, and nobody will hear her but her 50 Brazillion cats.
