Is how I read it it. Although I have no idea how someone (Mary) follows a lifestyle but does not consider themselves a sinner yet condones their family's view of them as a sinner.

Either homosexuals are fully emancipated human beings or they are not. I think they are and they are deserving of all of the protections and civil liberties of every other human being (marriage, spousal and survival benefits, etc.) How does Mary Cheney feel about this?
