It's obvious that the sharks are circling in the water for some reason--they've been at it from the moment the story was announced.

Wayyy too convenient.

It would be a great conquest for them to discredit Leopold, Truthout and Will Pitt in one fell swoop. Realize that they have as much to gain by Leopold being wrong as Leopold purportedly has to lose if you buy into their homongous straw man.

Consider the sources--on both sides.

The only reason Rove wouldn't be indicted would be if he's cooperating. FIVE(5) sessions before the GJ -- he's been talking about something other than himself.

2. Quite trying to stir up shit.

In your locked thread from yesterday you made allegations that you never backed up....namely that there were threads that held up NRO or Drudge as "proof" that Leopolds story is false.
You also complained of "multiple" assaults on Leopold/truthout/Will Pitt. Again, NOTHING specific.

Why are you committed to turning DU'ers against each other by claiming things that you cannot give examples of?

You're claiming that there's a conspiracy afoot at DU....some kind of organized attempt to discredit Leopold et al. A serious accusation, and one that you can provide ZERO EXAMPLES OF.

but the overblown reaction to a SINGLE SOURCE story on a blog is pretty funny i've gotta say. it would be nice scoop, but its not like its the second coming of christ, rove's been under investigation for a long time now, and SOME sort of resolution has been imminent for weeks. sure, it'd be nice to see rove get what he so richly deserves, but whether the news is first heard on radio moscow or cnn or free republic doesn't really make much difference, the point will be that rove is toast.

6. In my opinion

The people who are already attacking the story are setting themselves up also. I was personally happy to read the news here the other night, but I am waiting before I get too excited. It's not that I don't believe it to be true, I just want to be certain. The way it looks now, someone or some people will look silly when it is all said and done and it will be their own fault.

7. Has it occurred to you

that Leopold can fail on his own? That he may have made bad choices and it's a HUGE issue so he has a LOT to lose, but is willing to gamble on that?

If he fails it's because he decided to take on this story, very simple.

No amount of carping by anyone can change that.

Remember, Skinner said to try to get along, and that no one is REQUIRED to respect or fall to their knees before any site? Did you see that thread?

I don't think he wants people posting the same arguments over and over to stir things up.. most people seem to be settling down to wait and see what happens, why not just sit back yourself and wait for the proof you want?
