World Power Brokers Bilderberg Meeting In Ottawa
OTTAWA - The meetings of a secretive global think-tank would bring 100 of
the world's most powerful and influential figures to Ottawa next month and
make an Ottawa hotel the host of deliberations on such weighty issues as
the direction of global oil markets and potential military action against
Iran.

The Bilderberg has been accused of being everything from a Zionist cabal
building a single global government to a secret star-chamber that seeks to
fix the price of oil and presidential elections.

Even some rational critics suspect the Bilderberg's meetings set the
economic and political agenda for much of the industrialized world without
any public oversight or accountability. They denounce the Bilderberg as
elitist and overly secretive, calling it an anti-democratic gathering of
''the high priests of globalization.''

1. Too bad there's no date for the meeting...
I bet Iran will be the number one topic of conversation.

2. The Bilderberg Conference
Was the brainchild of HRH Prins Bernhard of the Netherlands. It's original reason for being was to preclude any chance of what happened in Germany in the Hitler era from happening again. It was named after the Bilderberg Hotel in Oosterbeek, a village just west of Arnhem (ironically, a village east of Arnhem is called Westervoort).

So yes, the top power people in the world go there. They are able to speak to eachother privately instead of arranged discussions controlled by bureaucrats for the benefit of newspapers, radio and TV for publication.

The fact is that what ever were to come out of the Conference is subject to public oversight. Also, those who attend know that cannot simply do as they wish (who knows, somebody may even remind Bush of that!).

It's as much of a social event as anything else, with people who cannot see eachother in a large group at other occassions.

Obviously there could be abuse, but a "girls night out" could end up at Chippendales too.
