Wear red on Friday?
Coming to an email box near you.

:argh:

"RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many! People wearing Red
every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to be
called the "silent majority". We are no longer silent, and are voicing
our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers. We are not
organized, boisterous or over-bearing. We get no media coverage on TV, to
reflect our message or our opinions.

Many Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of America supports our troops. Our idea of
showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity and respect
starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday until the troops
all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every red-blooded
American who supports our men and women afar will wear something red

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long
before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the once
"silent" majority is on their side more than ever, certainly more than the
media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked "What can we do to make things
better for you?" is...We need your support and your prayers. Let's get
the word out and lead with cl ass and dignity, by example; and wear some
thing red every Friday."

1. I don't own any more red clothes
The color repulses me because it reminds me of repukelicans.

3. Its been going around for a while. Its the Bushbot's way of
trying to confuse well-meaning support for the troops with blind support for Bush.

5. RW logic
Let me see if I get this right; wear red on Fridays so more Americans are ultimately covered in red. Sounds like Republican logic to me.

6. Idea has been out there awhile,
And it still isn't going over well in the Midwest. All these Bushbots are wearing red on Fridays, and people keep mistaking them for Chiefs fans:shrug:

Perhaps they need to choose a different color, say pink.

13. Try making a political statement by wearing red
in Fayetteville, Arkansas the Friday before a football game. Just another idiot, moron conservative idea with no real solution to offer to a problem they are responsible for.

7. Um, why not send a care package every Friday instead?
Seriously--how is wearing anything going to help our soldiers? Knitting or crocheting for them, sending care packages, donating to good groups trying to help them after they get home and their families while they're gone all make a heck of a lot more sense to me.

9. If I were to wear too much red
I'd be identified around here (Central Oregon) as a Rajneeshi =))

Well, maybe not anymore, but the old timers would do a double take.

12. Somebody needs to clear out their mailbox more often!
Last time I saw that little piece was in 2002 shortly after the * invaded Afghanistan.

At the time, there was a small controversy at my office, because some people thought wearing red on Friday was for peace, and some thought it was to support the war.

On the other hand, if you have a hot outfit, why not on Friday?

19. By all means wear the outfit
Yes, I've seen this before - but one of my husband's relatives feels it's her duty to send these "cleverly disguised" repug forwards on a regular basis. I've told her that I'm a Dem and am not interested, but she's undeterred. What's even more astounding is that she believes in the Rapture - and of course the war expedite this happy event.

16. Some might think you were a day late/dollar short on the Heart Disease
effort:
On Friday, February 3, 2006, National Wear Red Day, Americans across the country wore red to unite in the national observance and to give women a personal and urgent wake-up call about their risk for heart disease. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) created and launched the Red Dress as the national symbol for women and heart disease to inspire women to take action to protect their heart health.

18. Isn't red the color of the communist party?
I thought Republicans were strong anti-communists, it is interesting to see them turn into their "enemy."
