The good news about the federal marriage amendment
Yes there is some.

In the New England and Mid Atlantic states one, count him one, Senator voted to end the filibuster and he is widely believed to be the most endangered Senator. In Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware only one Senator voted for this crap. 22 Senators representing three of our ten largest states and several of our most famous cities. On the Pacific coast only one Senator out of six voted for cloture (Smith). Of our ten largest states (CA, NY, FL, TX, NJ, PA, IL, MI, OH, and GA) more split 2-0 in our favor (CA, NY, NJ, IL, AND MI) than 2-0 against us (OH, TX, GA). And, of course, one political party opposed the amendment 42 to 1 and the filibuster 41 to 2. DOMA had only 15 no votes this had 48. That is a long way to travel in 10 years.
