Gee, I must have pissed this guy off. One of my former supervisors.
He retired a few years ago, and moved to Florida. And then last year he moved over to the Gulf Coast in my neighborhood. We have lunch on occasion, and send e-mails back and forth, and talk on the phone every now and then.

A couple of weeks ago, he sent me this disgusting e-mail, and I just deleted it. Then he sent it to me again last week, and I responded to him. Haven't heard from him since.

I've never taken the time to learn how to post photo's on DU, so I'll give the text and describe the photo's, and then add my response.

A Message from the Ghost of General Patton....

ATTENTION!

(Picture of Patton addressing troops.)

To those whining, panty-waisted, pathetic Maggots, it's time for a little refresher course on exactly why we Americans occasionally have to fight wars.

(picture of Patton)

See if you can tear yourself away from your "reality" TV and Starbucks for a minute, pull your head out of your flabby ass -- and LISTEN UP!!

(picture of Patton in front of tank)

Abu Ghraib is not "torture" or an "atrocity".
This is the kind of thing frat boys, sorority girls, and academy cadets
do to newcomers.
A little fun at someone else's expense.
Certainly no reason to wring your hands or get your panties in a wad.

Got that Kennedy?

(picture of Patton)

THIS IS an atrocity!

(picture of journalist in front of hooded insurgents)

(pictures of insurgents carrying heads around)

So Was This!!!

(picture of twin towers collapsing)

WHICH PART DON'T YOU GET?

(picture of Patton crossing over into Germany)

Islam a peaceful religion???
Millions of these sons-of-bitches are plotting as we speak to destroy our country and our way of life any way they can.
Some of them are here among us now.

They don't want to convert you and don't want to rule you. You are a vile infestation of Allah's paradise. They don't give a shit how "progressive" you are, how peace-loving you are, or how much you sympathize with their cause.! !

They want you dead, and think it is God's will for them to do it. And you think Bush and Cheney are your worst enemies?

(picture of Patton)

Some think if we give them a hug or listen to them, then they'll like us... and if you agree? Then you are a dumb ass!

If they manage to get their hands on a nuke, chemical agents, or even some anthrax -- you will wish to God we had hunted them down and killed THEM while we had the chance.

Stop bitchin' about your damn Health Care, Social Security, Gas prices, and your measly 3.25% unemployment rate...and start worrying about you, your family's, and your friends' asses.

How many more Americans must be beheaded before you stop blaming Bush for all your troubles --
You've fallen asleep AGAIN, maggots!
And you may not get another chance!

NOW GET OFF YOUR SORRY ASS-
and pass this on to any and every person you give-a-damn about...
if you ever gave a damn aboutanything.

(picture of Patton)

DISMISSED

Now, My response, that seemed to piss him off!

Have you ever seen the pictures from Abu Gharib? And exactly how many Iraqi's hijacked those planes on 9/11. Tell me again, how many WMD's Saddam had.

Yeah, I would say that Bush and Cheney are probably our worst enemies. 2500 American soldiers dead for a neo-con wet dream. 20,000 maimed. And what do the survivors have to look forward to? Google "Depleted Uranium". We're sentencing our own troops to a slow, painful death. And most of them don't even know it. Insidious stuff. I did a live, hour-long tv show on it a couple of months ago in Tampa.

And, btw, should I be more scared of a couple of hundred goat fuckers in a cave in Pakistan, than I was in the late 50's and early 60's when a credible threat had 23,000 nuclear missles aimed at us, and the means to deliver them.

I guess Pattons ghost is really a fascist bed-wetter. And don't even get me started on unemployment, and health insurance. Ours just got canceled.

(P)rick

I guess I just don't play well with others.

3.  Some of these Patton-worshipers
would not like what the General would say to them, those who sit on their a**es and encourage others to fight, he would probably blast the current Yellow Elephant Republicans.

10. My stepfather fought under Patton and he hated Patton's guts.
He would never talk about his war experiences except to say that he was in France, like to have frozen to death on more than one occasion, Patton slapped a soldier (don't remember the story) and said he saw "some action" during the war. He enlisted in the Army right after Pearl Harbor, spent the entire war in Europe in the infantry (at least that is what I remember). Too bad he is dead now, I would love to talk to him about his war experiences. He was a good, kind, sweet and decent man who spent the last two decades of his life fighting demons as an alcoholic. He died in 1975 and I always wondered if he came back from the war that way. He seemed too gentle to be a fighter.

On that note - does anyone know of a web site where you can search for a serviceman's record. My younger sister (his daughter) is too young to really remember her father and I would like to help her find out more about his war years. (She does have his medals and DD214).

11. Re: your inquiry.
Many units have web pages, so I'd start by googling that info. Even if his specific unit doesn't have one, a similar group probably will and often there's specifics on where to write for whatever records that are available. Many of the men who are still living hold annual reunions - if you get lucky and find them, maybe you girls could attend and learn more that way. Good luck!

Something tells me he wouldn't be keen on that.

I respect what he (Patton) did, but somebody may have twisted his ideals to conform to their own misguided contemporary view.

On Edit:

Dr.Phool - loved your respnse however, and screw'em if he doesn't get it.

17. Yes.
I mean, look how they've twisted the philosophy of the Founding Fathers - turning them all into fundie Christians, when we know they were not. Making the Constitution out to be some sort of Bible Addendum, when we know it isn't. What's to stop them from messing with Patton or any other leader?
