Always thought Danny Boy was a lightweight. Guess GE loves themselves some Abrams.

1. Ooh
Don't know about this. I'm not sure Danny is up to the job. He does tend to lean a little right most of the time, so I guess it remains to be seen if he takes the network that direction.

8. Don't be so sure of that.
From what I can see there is no bad blood between Olbermann and Abrams. Besides which, Abrams will be reporting to Phil Griffin, and Phil Griffin not only came up with the concept for Countdown, he's known Olbermann for ages and has always supported him.

Here's an AP report already giving us an idea of the way Abrams thinks:

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/13285722/

MSNBC has been mired in third place in the ratings behind Fox News Channel and CNN during virtually all of its 10-year history. Recently, pointed political shows such as “Countdown” with Keith Olbermann and “Hardball” with Chris Matthews have made some headway.

Those shows work because they are focused and viewers know what they’re getting every day, Abrams said.

“Over the next few months, you will hopefully see the network become a little more exciting, a little more vibrant and a little more irreverent,” Abrams said.

What that will ultimately mean, who knows...but it does imply that Keith and Tweety are around to stay. (In Tweety's case, whether we like it or not.)

4. Don't know, but his father is Floyd Abrams.
Floyd is the top First Amendment lawyer in the country; represented the New York Times in the Pentagon Papers case.

But I don't watch that channel much, just like the rest of the world.
